South River Irrigation Ltd. is a “turn-key” irrigation company providing design, service, and installation for residential, commercial, and vineyard irrigation applications.  We were incorporated in 1989 and serve Albemarle, Augusta, Bath, Rockbridge, and Rockingham county.

Brett Snyder, the owner of South River Irrigation Ltd., received his B.S. degree in Forestry and Wildlife from Virginia Tech.  He is a certified irrigation contractor, certified landscape irrigation auditor, certified in backflow prevention, and is an EPA Watersense partner.

We offer annual service contracts which can include Spring start-up, backflow testing, monthly check-ups during the Summer, and Fall winterization.  Our current client base is comprised of about 75% residential and 25% commercial/vineyard properties.

We install only the best components from Netafim, Hunter, Toro, and Rain Bird. 

We strive to stay at the forefront of new irrigation technology with the goal of utilizing the earth’s water resources in the most efficient manner possible.  Some of the water saving components we install are rain sensors, drip irrigation systems, evapotranspiration (ET) based controllers, and rainwater collection systems.  Depending on the size of the irrigated area, some of these devices can pay for themselves within one season.

Proper irrigation scheduling is of the utmost importance regardless of how efficient your in-ground irrigation system is.  We have the knowledge to help you program your timer in a manner that will promote a healthy landscape, minimize water waste and run-off, and ultimately save you money.
